“Svastha” in the yogic tradition means being established in one’s true self—physically, mentally, and emotionally balanced. This two-part workshop explores classical yoga philosophy as taught in the tradition of Krishnamacharya and his student A. G. Mohan, focusing on practical tools for cultivating mental steadiness and inner clarity.

In "Understanding the Inner Landscape,"  you will be introduced to the philosophical foundations of mental well-being through key yogic concepts. Participants will explore Bhāva (inner attitude) and how it shapes perception and experience. We’ll examine the Kleśas—the root causes of suffering described in the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali—and how they influence thoughts and behavior. Through discussion and guided reflection, we will look at the ethical framework of Yamas and Niyamas, practical principles that support steadiness in daily life. The session also explores the cycle of Saṁskāra, Vṛtti, and Karma, illustrating how habitual patterns of thought and action reinforce one another—and how awareness can begin to shift this cycle.

Participants will leave with a clearer understanding of how yogic philosophy explains mental agitation and how intentional attitudes and actions can begin to restore balance.
